Sanbornton – On Saturday, 3 November 2007, the NH Farmers’ Market Association will host a meeting open to all NH farmers’ market coordinators, staff and vendors. The meeting is also open to anyone with an interest in farmers’ markets, e.g., proposed market planners, customers, Main Street Coordinators, etc. This meeting is also open to out of state markets.

The meeting will be held at the Belknap County Cooperative Extension office in Laconia NH. Located on Route 106 North (aka North Main Street) and 36 County Drive. Phone: 603-527-5475.

The objectives of the meeting are: to elect new officers, to inform the farmers’ markets of NHFMA activities to date and for the near term, and to facilitate an information and idea exchange among the markets.

Check in and coffee starts at 8:30 AM, the morning general session starts at 9:00 AM. A brown bag lunch break starts at 11:45 AM. The second general session starts at 12:30 PM and adjourns at 2:00 PM. Topics in the general session include: 2007 WIC FMNP Coupon Issues, (WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program; The Homestead Licenses and Food Licensing at Farmers’ Markets, Where Do You Want the NHFMA to Go from Here?

A drawing will be held among those NH farmers’ markets attending. The selected market will be eligible for a $100 NHFMA matching grant contribution toward a marketing and promotion project for that market. The selected market will be required to match the NHFMA’s $100 grant. The $100 NHFMA contribution may be used as a match for other grants such as the NHDAMF mini-grant program.
