Some WIC FMNP coupons have been redeemed that are not properly printed.

These coupons have been redeemed by farmers and sent to NH DHHS for reimbursement/payment. NH DHHS is unable to reimburse these coupons because they are not valid coupons. As a result, the farmers that took these coupons are incurring a loss.

These improper coupons are completely blank except for the purple "NH WIC Program" watermark--even the stub is blank.

To be a valid coupon that NH DHHS will reimburse, when the farmer accepts it, the coupon must have:

a stub with the unique, sequential number and the words "2007 NH farmers' Market Coupon. . .later than 11-15-2007 to receive payment."

a coupon with:

the purple "NH WIC Program" watermark

the denomination $2.00 in an oval

a bar code with a registration number (each coupon has unique, sequential number)

the year "2007" in large print, and

All the words: "Get Fresh, Get Five. . .NOT FOR USE AT WIC GROCERY STORES"

All WIC FMNP registered farmers were trained to recognize a valid coupon and to reject any that are not complete.

If anyone has questions, contact Pam Welcome or Laura.F.Desmarais, NH DHHS, 800-WIC-4321.
