NOFA-NH Third Annual Winter
Conference
New Hampshire's Farmers' Markets & The
Legalities Affecting Their Viability.
Are those products you want
to sell at a farmers' market legal in NH? This workshop will discuss
identifying licensing, liability and other such issues. The NHFMA will present
how they are approaching these issues. Do we need to modify the NH and Federal
laws? If we do, is there a committee or do we need to form one? Do we have a
sponsor who will push it through legislature and/or write the bills, or do we
need to write the bill? Presented by Jack Potter and Charlie Burke, the
president and vice president of the NH Farmer's Market Association.

Presentation.

"Boosting Customer Traffic to Your
Market" Workshop
The University of New Hampshire Cooperative
Extension with the support of the NH Department Of Agriculture, Markets &
Food presented this workshop to be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2003.
This one day workshop was for those who are just
getting into farming, those who have been wholesaling, or retailers who would
like to sharpen their skills.
Those attending this workshop: Gained valuable
tips on how to advertise to increase sales at your farm stand, U-Pick operation
or farmers' market. Explored different types of promotion venues such as flyer
design, business cards, signage, and creation of press kits for newspapers and
radio stations. Covered marketing through channels as simple as word-of-mouth
or complex as the Internet (branding and e-commerce). Learned how successful
growers create their own identity and get their business known. Attending this
workshop is a must if you sell a farm product or a service.
